Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh: On Thursday, 18 September 2025 with the collaboration and support of the National Committee for Sub-National Democratic Development (NCDD), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Cambodia, and the Coalition for Partnership in Democratic Development (CPDD), a workshop was organized on disseminating the results and officially closing the project “Strengthening Transparency and Accountability in Local Governance through Civic Engagement (STA Project).”
The workshop was honored by the presence of His Excellency the Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia, representatives of UNDP Cambodia, officials from relevant ministries and national institutions, administrations of the three target municipalities, development partners, civil society organizations, and youth representatives — totaling 178 participants, including 47 women.
The objectives of the workshop were to share achievements, impacts, and lessons learned by stakeholders, to consolidate good practices and knowledge gained from the project implementation. In addition, the workshop highlighted how civil society organizations (CSOs) have contributed to mobilizing and supporting citizens, as well as empowering youth to voice their opinions and concerns through meaningful and constructive dialogue. Special attention was also given to the achievements and lessons learned from the Citizens’ Opinion website (Yobol.org).
