CPDD Office: Wednesday afternoon, 9 July 2025
The Coalition for Partnership in Democratic Development (CPDD) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with ThanksCarbon for the implementation of the project in three provinces: Takeo, Kampong Speu, and Pursat. A total of six participants attended, including members from the ThanksCarbon team, fertilizer manufacturers, and the CPDD Secretariat (1 woman).
The signing ceremony aimed to: (1) Promote sustainable agriculture and mitigate climate change; (2) Cultivate low-emission rice using the Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) technique and generate carbon credits in line with Cambodia’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) and climate-smart agriculture priorities; (3) Collect certain information from private companies supplying organic or chemical fertilizers.
In line with these objectives, the two parties agreed to cooperate on implementing the Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) Carbon Credit Project in Takeo, Kampong Speu, and Pursat provinces, Cambodia.
