Background

Phnom Srey Organization for Development is a local non-governmental organization in Cambodia, established in 1998 and registered with the Ministry of Interior in 2000. Aims to contribute to social development by working in partnership with the Royal Government of Cambodia, civil society organizations, and the private sectors. Phnom Srey Organization for Development is headquartered in Kampong Cham City, Kampong Cham Province, Cambodia. On November 12, 2010, PSOD registered with the Ministry of Interior to change Phnom Srey Association for Development to Phnom Srey Organization for Development. Phnom Srey Organization for Development has many years of experiences in implementing community development project activities, to promote the respecting for human rights, children's rights, promoting democracy, gender equality in health services, good governance at the grassroots level, governance of children's rights, child protection, water and sanitation, natural resource management, disaster and climate change adaptation, increasing income generation, reducing domestic violence, human trafficking and drug use through community capacity building, entrepreneurship, small-scale infrastructure, strengthening community resilience by providing vocational training skills and agricultural techniques​ through vocational training and agricultural and food processing techniques. Phnom Srey Organization for Development (PSOD) is a Cambodian Non-Governmental and Non-Profit Organization. PSOD organized in reach activities to solve the problems of children, young women, youth, people with disability , women, older people, Sexual Oriented Gender Identify Group (SOGEI), homeless people, indigenous, minorities peoples, poor families, and vulnerable group in Cambodia that addressed as HIV/Aids, primary healthcare, education and scholarship, climate change and adaptation, support in small business start-up, life skills and vocational training, good governance, migration, child protection, child right, human right, disaster management, Water Sanitation, agriculture, sexual reproductive health, literacy, gender base violence (GBV),​ gender mainstreaming, prevention from drug use, the principles of good governance, civic engagement, and gender equality in Kampong Cham, Prey Veng, Thbong Khmum, Stung Treng, Batom Bong, Banteay Meanchey, Odor Mean Cheay, Kampong Chhnang, Seim Reap, Mondul Kiri and Ratanak Kiri Provinces. PSOD is led by a female Executive Director with support from a board of directors (five-member board of director including a female). The board of director has clearly defined board policies and they have different skill sets and knowledges from relevant organizations and companies. PSOD has five management team members including three females. At the time of writing PSOD there was 48 staff, including 20 females. Head office is at #126 E1, Presh Monivong Street, Chrouy Thmor Village, Sang Kat BoeungKok, Kampong Cham Town, Kampong Cham Province.

Vision

PSOD wants to see the Cambodian Society comprised of peace, equality, solidarity, ownership and nationwide development.

Mission

PSOD mission is to be a Cambodian organisation working collaboratively with the Royal Government of Cambodia, development partners and other civil society organisations to facilitate and implement community integrated development programmes that lead to reduced poverty of rural Cambodians.

Value

PSOD believes that people are the main resource for Cambodia’s development and that creating equitable relationships between them is a key factor in achieving positive change. PSOD believes that community development is about ensuring all activities have quality and reflect the principles of accountability, participation and gender equity. PSOD believes that to enhance and accelerate development processes and bring positive changes to Cambodian society requires that the organisation engages all relevant stakeholders.
