First Step Cambodia is a non-governmental organization with the primary goal of ensuring that all Cambodian children are protected from sexual abuse and that all those affected are psychologically and socially supported to enable them to reach their fullest potential. FSC was established in 2010 with an office in Phnom Penh. In 2015, the second office was opened in Siem Reap which allows First Step Cambodia to reach 13 out of 25 provinces and municipality of Cambodia. FSC was known after research was launched highlighting the vulnerability of boys to sexual abuse, which was then largely under-recognized in Cambodia. Along with the research work and the design of highly specialized curriculum aiming at increasing the standards of the social work practice, a large number of children (boys and girls) survivors of sexual abuse received the support services of First Step Cambodia.
First Step Cambodia works to ensure that boys are free from sexual abuse, and are protected and empowered in safe, nurturing families.
