Background
The Cambodian Institute for Democracy (CID) is a non-government and independent think tank working to support and strengthen democracy as a fundamental principle necessary for Cambodia’s social, economic, and political development. The institute was founded on October 23, 2019 by a group of Cambodian intellectuals and has been registered in accordance with the Law for Associations and Non-Government Organizations since December 2019.

CID’s mission is to promote human rights, democracy, peace, and sustainable development in Cambodia by informing, empowering, engaging people, and influencing policies and positive changes.
