Background
Founded in 1991, KHEMARA became the first local non-governmental organization (NGO) in Cambodia to work with women and children. For 33 years, the organization has played a significant role in supporting the advancement of disadvantaged populations and enabling their voices to be heard.
Vision
To see a Cambodian society in which all people, especially the women and children, fully participate in social development.
Mission
To promote the capacity, confidence and wellbeing of communities through the sharing of information, education and counselling, including the encouragement of women and children to recognise their potential and rights to participate in decision making.
