Co-organized by CPDD and the Ministry of Economy and Finance, alongside sub-grantees Action For Development (AFD), Khemara Cambodia, Anakot Kumar (AK), and Nak Akphiwath Sahakum (NAS), the training on "Public Financial Management at Commune/Sangkat Administration" was successfully held in Kampong Chhnang from October 30 to November 1, 2024. The three-day event provided essential knowledge and skills for local government officials.
The training aimed to enhance the understanding of how commune and district administrations develop, authorize, and implement budgets in a transparent and accountable manner. It also emphasized the importance of promoting inclusive participation in the budget preparation process, ensuring that the financial planning reflects the needs of all community members.
By the end of the training, participants were better equipped to manage public finances effectively, contributing to the overall goal of improving local governance and fostering greater transparency and accountability in financial management. This event marked a significant step toward empowering local authorities and enhancing the capacity for sustainable development at the commune and district levels.
